Judy Chu, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 28th district since 2009, addressed a range of topics in recent posts on her official social media account.
On May 1, 2026, Chu commented on national abortion access debates: “The anti-abortion movement is one step closer to their ultimate goal of ending abortion access nationwide—even in states like California where abortion is legal. We will not let this stand. Decades of use and over 100 peer reviewed studies have repeatedly proven that https://t.co/rLLzH33DAm”.
The following day, May 2, Chu extended greetings for Vesak: “Wishing peace, compassion, and kindness to all who celebrate Vesak in CA-28 and across the world. May this meaningful day bring enlightenment and reflection. https://t.co/B3LdIA5Qu7”.
Later on May 2, Chu addressed rising gas prices and attributed blame to former President Donald Trump: “Not surprised, still disappointed. This past month, the national average of gas hit $4.39 a gallon compared to $2.89 before Trump’s illegal war in Iran started. That’s nearly a 50% increase. Everything is more expensive. It’s all Trump’s fault.”
Chu has served in Congress since replacing Hilda Solis in 2009 and previously was a member of the California State Assembly from 2001 to 2006. Born in Los Angeles in 1953 and currently residing in Monterey Park, she graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974.
