Judy Chu, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 28th district since 2009, recently posted a series of statements on her official Twitter account addressing election security, bipartisan efforts for the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum, and discrimination against Chinese American scientists.
Addressing legislative efforts on April 17, 2026, Chu wrote: “For years, we worked with Republicans to build support for a bipartisan bill to finally secure a prominent site on the mall for the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum. Then, Republicans tore it up and handed all the power to Trump, both to choose a location and to”.

Chu has served in Congress since succeeding Hilda Solis in 2009 after previously serving in the California State Assembly from 2001 to 2006. Born in Los Angeles in 1953 and currently residing in Monterey Park at age 69, she is an alumna of UCLA with a BA earned in 1974.
