Judy Chu, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 28th district since 2009, addressed key issues in a series of posts on September 19, 2025. Her statements focused on condemning political violence and criticizing immigration enforcement practices.
In a post made at 15:42 UTC, Chu stated, “I voted to condemn the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk and call on all Americans to reject political violence. My vote is not an endorsement of Kirk’s views, but a firm rejection of the rising political violence in our country that we must all reject, regardless of”.
Later that day at 16:37 UTC, she highlighted concerns about immigration policy by sharing a personal story from her district: “Trump’s deportation agenda doesn’t care if you have lawful status, or even citizenship. That’s why I’ll keep sharing my constituent Rami Othmane’s story. He was snatched by ICE with no transparency or accountability. This cruelty is un-American, and we must keep fighting against”.
Chu also expressed gratitude for a congressional colleague in another post at 16:38 UTC: “Thanks you @RepJayapal for hosting this important hearing.”
Judy Chu has served in Congress since succeeding Hilda Solis in 2009 and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2001 to 2006. Born in Los Angeles in 1953 and currently residing in Monterey Park, Chu earned her undergraduate degree from UCLA in 1974.
