Chu has represented California’s 28th District in Congress since succeeding Hilda Solis in 2009. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the California State Assembly from 2001 to 2006. Born in Los Angeles in 1953 and currently residing in Monterey Park, Chu earned her BA from UCLA in 1974.
