Judy Chu, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 28th district since 2009, posted a series of messages on her social media accounts addressing health care reform, immigration enforcement actions at airports, and disaster relief funding.
On March 23, 2026, Chu marked the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act with a critique of Republican policies: “16 years ago, Democrats revolutionized health care with the Affordable Care Act. Chu has served in Congress since succeeding Hilda Solis in 2009 after previously serving in the California State Assembly from 2001 to 2006. She was born in Los Angeles in 1953 and resides in Monterey Park. Chu earned her undergraduate degree from UCLA in 1974.
