Judy Chu, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 28th district since 2009, posted a series of messages on her social media accounts addressing health care reform, immigration enforcement actions at airports, and disaster relief funding.

On March 23, 2026, Chu marked the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act with a critique of Republican policies: “16 years ago, Democrats revolutionized health care with the Affordable Care Act. Today, Republicans don’t care if families can afford health care. While Democrats helped more than 50 million people gain coverage, Republicans chose to kick 15 million people off coverage & send https://t.co/5rgM3kOp1p”.

Later that day, Chu addressed concerns about immigration enforcement at airports: “Trump’s deployment of his lawless, untrained ICE agents to airports is deeply concerning. They are imposing fear, confusion, and violence onto people and families just traveling home, or to work, or to see loved ones. Congress can pass Democrats’ bill to fund TSA today, but https://t.co/YY702HSSth”.

On March 24, Chu commented on disaster relief efforts following the Eaton Fire: “Treating disaster relief as a partisan issue is despicable. It’s been over a year since the Eaton Fire and families and small businesses are still struggling to recover. When Trump decides to play political games with disaster aid, he is punishing millions of Americans. All https://t.co/zuf9xoCWFE”.

Chu has served in Congress since succeeding Hilda Solis in 2009 after previously serving in the California State Assembly from 2001 to 2006. She was born in Los Angeles in 1953 and resides in Monterey Park. Chu earned her undergraduate degree from UCLA in 1974.
