Judy Chu, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 28th district since 2009, recently posted a series of updates on her official X account addressing local community rebuilding efforts and concerns over rising health care costs.
On October 16, 2025, Chu shared a resource link, stating, “To learn more visit: https://t.co/HsjZL67Ya7”.
Later that day, she highlighted the Wood family’s experience in Altadena, writing on October 16, 2025, “The Wood family has lived in Altadena for generations. But on the night of the Eaton Fire, all 3 of their family’s homes were destroyed. That’s why I’m so grateful to have joined @sgvHabitat as we broke ground in Altadena at the site the Wood family will once again get to call https://t.co/DiqiLNfsC7”.
On October 17, 2025, Chu addressed health care affordability in California, posting, “Californians could see their health care costs more than DOUBLE next year.
A couple making $85k/year in Pasadena could see their premiums jump from $665 to over $2,064 PER MONTH.
Why? Because Republicans want to end the ACA tax credits that keep premiums affordable. https://t.co/ZuYXIcWp8r“.
Chu has served in Congress since replacing Hilda Solis in 2009 and previously held a seat in the California State Assembly from 2001 to 2006. Born in Los Angeles in 1953 and currently residing in Monterey Park, Chu is an alumna of UCLA, where she earned her BA in 1974.
