Judy Chu, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 28th district since 2009, recently posted a series of updates on her social media accounts regarding local events and resources for her constituents.
On October 1, 2025, Chu shared a post directed at Pasadena Now: @ePasadenaNow https://t.co/g2JuExGBD5.
The following day, she addressed the impact of the Eaton Fire on local businesses and non-profits. In her October 2, 2025 post, Chu wrote: “The deadline for businesses and non-profits affected by the Eaton Fire to apply for a Small Business Administration (SBA) Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) is Wednesday, October 8, 2025. If you’re applying for an SBA loan, you may experience some processing delays, but Small”.
Later that same morning, Chu extended holiday wishes to those observing Yom Kippur in her district and beyond. She stated: “Wishing a meaningful Yom Kippur to all observing in CA-28 and beyond. G’mar Chatima Tovah https://t.co/f9E3i2apyO”.
Chu has represented California’s 28th district since succeeding Hilda Solis in Congress in 2009. Before serving in Congress, she was a member of the California State Assembly from 2001 to 2006. Born in Los Angeles in 1953 and currently residing in Monterey Park, Chu graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974.
