U.S. Representative Judy Chu, who serves California’s 28th district, highlighted early education, community health care access, and democracy in a series of recent posts on her social media account.
On October 17, 2025, Chu marked the significance of Head Start programs by posting: “October is #HeadStartAwareness Month!
Since 1965, Head Start has provided early education and services to 40 million+ families, with proven long-term benefits and a strong return on investment.
That’s why I will always fight to protect and increase funding for Head Start.”
Later that day, she visited a local community health provider and shared: “Today I visited Herald Christian Health Center in Rosemead—a community health center that helps thousands enroll in Medi-Cal and Covered California & provides lifesaving care regardless of income or insurance.
But Trump & Republicans gutted the programs that make that care”.
The following day, October 18, Chu commented on nationwide rallies: “The “No Kings” rallies across the United States send a powerful message: that we, the people, stand united in defense of democracy, equality, and civil rights. No one, not even a president, is above the law. Our commitment to freedom and justice is unwavering.”
Judy Chu has represented California’s 28th district in Congress since replacing Hilda Solis in 2009. She previously served in the California State Assembly from 2001 to 2006. Born in Los Angeles in 1953 and currently residing in Monterey Park, Chu graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974.
