Judy Chu, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 28th district since 2009, recently shared updates on her official X account regarding local arts initiatives and Memorial Day observances.
On May 24, Chu highlighted the success of a student art competition in her district, stating, “Artistic Discovery was such a wonderful event this year! We had over 200 pieces of artwork submitted by talented student artists from across our district. A huge thank you to our judges from ArtCenter College of Design and the Pasadena Armory. Two days later, on May 26, she encouraged constituents to seek additional information about her activities or initiatives by posting, “To learn more, visit: https://t.co/ioQC0EaRuP”.
On May 25, in recognition of Memorial Day, Chu posted a message honoring military service members, “Today, on Memorial Day, we remember the fallen heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. We extend our sincerest gratitude to all our service members – past, present and future. Thank you for your service. https://t.co/C09M8up6v2”.
Chu has represented California’s 28th District in Congress since replacing Hilda Solis in 2009 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2001 to 2006. Born in Los Angeles in 1953 and currently residing in Monterey Park, she graduated with a BA from UCLA in 1974.
