Judy Chu, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 28th district since 2009, used her social media platform on November 4, 2025, to urge voter participation and criticize former President Donald Trump and Republican leadership.
On the morning of Election Day, Chu posted a call to action for Californians: “Californians: TODAY is Election Day! Go out and vote because democracy works best when we all make our voices heard. Later that day, Chu criticized Trump’s domestic policy decisions regarding food assistance programs. She wrote: “Trump’s cruelty knows no end. He found $40 billion for Argentina but is deliberately withholding food from 40 million hungry children, seniors, and Veterans at home. https://t.co/gzctkLdGOj” (posted November 4, 2025).
In a subsequent post on the same day, Chu addressed Speaker Johnson and former President Trump directly about compliance with court orders related to food aid: “I think Speaker Johnson & Donald Trump need to have a word, because Trump is openly defying a court order to deliberately withhold food from 40 million Americans. Republicans’ priorities have never been working families. Their agenda is tax breaks for the wealthy & cruelty for https://t.co/7D90uWqug3” (posted November 4, 2025).
Chu has represented California’s 28th District in Congress since replacing Hilda Solis in 2009 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2001 to 2006. Born in Los Angeles in 1953 and currently residing in Monterey Park, she graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974.
