Judy Chu, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 28th district, has been active on social media addressing various issues and achievements within her constituency. Her recent posts cover topics from immigration detention center concerns to local culinary accolades and economic contributions from international students.
On December 4, 2024, Judy Chu expressed her stance against the continued operation of the Adelanto ICE Processing Center. She stated, "Today, my colleagues & I joined Shutdown Adelanto Coalition to demand the immediate closure of the Adelanto @ICEgov Processing Center, operated by GEO Group. Its continued operation, despite documented neglect, abuse, and preventable deaths, undermines immigrant & human rights."
The following day, December 5, 2024, she celebrated local dining establishments featured in a prominent list by the Los Angeles Times. Chu remarked on Twitter: "Of the 101 restaurants featured in the @latimes' list of the best restaurants in Los Angeles, I'm excited to see that 7 of them are right here in #CA28! Congrats: Yang's Kitchen, Dolan's Uyghur Cuisine, Kang Kang Food Court, Henry's Cuisine, Bar Chelou, Sushi Kisen & Bistro Na's!"
Later that same day on December 5th, she highlighted the economic impact of international college students in her district while criticizing certain immigration policies. Chu tweeted: "In #CA28 alone, int'l college students contribute $164 million to our local economy and support 1,221 jobs. Yet Trump has not been afraid to make it clear that he supports travel bans & potentially revoking the visas of those who are here legally—terrible ideas that I’ll fight."
