Judy Chu, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 28th district, has recently shared several updates on social media. Her posts cover topics ranging from student debt relief to significant legal cases and leadership transitions within her organization.
On December 3, 2024, Judy Chu highlighted a recent development in student debt relief: "Here in #CA28, @POTUS has granted 1,990 public servants $165.6 million in student debt relief. All told, a million+ Americans have received the relief they've earned thanks to the Biden-Harris Administration fixes to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program!"
The following day, December 4, 2024, she commented on an important case being heard by the Supreme Court: "Today, #SCOTUS will hear arguments in U.S. v. Skrmetti on whether states can ban essential care for trans kids. The case tests whether trans kids have equal protection under the Constitution (Newsflash: Yes.). Healthcare decisions belong to families & doctors—not politicians."
Later that same day, she reflected on her tenure as Chair of CAPAC and announced her transition to a new role: "It has been an extraordinary honor to serve as CAPAC Chair for the past 14 years. As I step into a Chair Emerita role, I congratulate the entire incoming leadership team, including Chair-elect @RepGraceMeng, and look forward to continuing our work together on behalf of AANHPIs."
