On January 29, 2025, Judy Chu tweeted about the current state of affairs under what she referred to as "the Trump Administration 2.0." She stated that there have been "24 hrs of deliberate, intentional confusion and chaos" affecting essential services such as Meals on Wheels, community health centers, hospitals, police stations, and Head Start programs as they attempt to determine their funding status.

She warned that "taking the safe drug mifepristone off pharmacists' shelves - or banning women's ability to receive it by mail - would be a national abortion ban." She linked this issue to Project 2025 and noted former President Trump's previous claims of ignorance regarding the project.
