On February 6, 2025, Judy Chu tweeted about a conversation with Speaker Johnson and Representative Gwen Moore regarding the need for congressional oversight of Elon Musk and DOGE's activities. She mentioned that Speaker Johnson admitted to being unaware of the situation concerning Americans' private data and stated their intention to hold him accountable in the Ways and Means Committee. "Yesterday, @SpeakerJohnson told @RepGwenMoore and me he'd welcome congressional oversight of Musk and DOGE's activities because he too doesn't know what's going on with Americans private data."
