Judy Chu, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 28th district, has been actively engaging with her constituents on issues related to debris removal and recovery following recent wildfires. Chu has served in Congress since 2009 after replacing Hilda Solis and previously held a position in the California State Assembly from 2001 to 2006.

On February 20, 2025, Judy Chu announced an upcoming event focused on debris removal and recovery efforts in Altadena. She stated, "Join me tomorrow for an event on debris removal and recovery in Altadena! I'll be joined by experts who can speak to Phase 1 and 2 of the debris removal process by @fema and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers."

The following day, February 21, 2025, Chu provided a live update on the ongoing efforts related to the Eaton Fire. She invited people to tune in by saying, "I’m live now to discuss ongoing debris removal and recovery process from the devastating Eaton Fire."

On February 22, 2025, Chu expressed her commitment to collaborating with Congressional leadership and the President on disaster relief legislation. She remarked, "As with every catastrophic natural disaster that’s pummeled an American community in our history, I look forward to working with Congressional leadership and the President to pass a supplemental disaster package to address these recent wildfires, with no strings attached."
