Judy Chu, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 28th district, recently shared her thoughts and commitments through a series of tweets addressing issues ranging from commemorating tragic events to critiquing governmental policies.
On March 16, 2025, Judy Chu marked the anniversary of the Atlanta spa shootings by honoring the victims. She stated, "Today, we remember the victims of the Atlanta spa shootings. We honor the 8 lives lost, including 6 Asian women. This tragedy reminds us of the violence faced by AANHPI communities. I remain committed to working with @CAPAC to stand against hate & build a safer, more inclusive..."
The following day on March 17, 2025, Chu expressed concern over social security policies allegedly influenced by Trump and Musk. She claimed there was "Further evidence that Trump and Musk are CUTTING Social Security benefits." She elaborated on issues at the Social Security Administration involving erroneous actions against beneficiaries: "This is what DOGE is doing at the Social Security Administration: incorrectly targeting living people and rescinding their hard-earned benefits."
Later that day, she announced an event focused on discussing recent cuts to critical social programs. On March 17, she tweeted an invitation for constituents to join her in Pasadena: "Join me TOMORROW at 9:30 AM at the Pasadena Senior Center as we discuss the devastating impacts of Trump and Elon Musk’s reckless cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security You won't want to miss it!"
